Add a little New Year’s fireworks show to your Deck with Yu-Gi-Oh! Burst Protocol! Rokkets return in Burst Protocol, along with the latest Forbidden Quick-Play Spell Card – Forbidden Crown.
Depicting the struggle of powers above and below, the Forbidden series of Quick-Play Spells began back in 2009. Forbidden Crown is the sixth card in the series and features the most effects so far.
The monster chosen by Forbidden Crown is affected by all of the following for the rest of the turn:
- its effects are negated,
- it cannot attack,
- it cannot be destroyed,
- it is unaffected by card effects except its own,
- it cannot be Tributed or used as Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Material,
- neither player can activate monster effects in response to Forbidden Crown.
Like all Forbidden Quick-Play Spells, Forbidden Crown can be used during either player’s turn and can target your own monster or your opponent’s. It can stop an opponent’s monster effects, disrupt their Summoning strategy, or protect one of your own monsters from card effects and destruction in battle.
The Darklords are also back. Darklord Dance lets you Fusion Summon Darklord Eveningstar or any DARK Fairy using materials from the hand, field, or Graveyard, and can even use Darklord monsters your opponent controls. When Summoned, Darklord Eveningstar Sets one Darklord Spell and one Darklord Trap directly from your Deck and can reuse the effects of Darklord Spells and Traps in your Graveyard.
The Rokket strategy also returns with brand-new monsters inspired by Varis’ strategy from the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. The set includes a new Link-5 Borrel Monster that can join the mighty Borrelend Dragon in your Extra Deck.
Burst Protocol also introduces new Magistus cards. Spenta, the Magistus Sealer makes its debut, alongside the Fusion Monster Invoked Magistus Omega.
Mercurium the Living Quicksilver is a Rank 10 Aqua/DARK Xyz Monster with 3000 ATK and 3000 DEF. When Xyz Summoned, it attaches a monster directly from your Deck to itself as material. While Mercurium has material, your opponent cannot activate monster effects in their Graveyard if you have a monster with the same Attribute in your Graveyard.
The set also introduces a brand-new World Premiere theme featuring scientists experimenting with dinosaurs.
Burst Protocol contains:
- 10 Secret Rares
- 14 Ultra Rares
- 26 Super Rares
